The Private LibraryThe Association has published its quarterly Journal, The Private Library, since 1957. The First Series, 1957-1967, is out of print and PDFs of that series are also given below. A complete listing of the contents from 1968 is available from Jim Maslen.

Indexes

There are separate indexes for each series; we have provided each index in a separate file, and have also provided a combined file which contains all four indexes - note that this is not a composite index, but four separate indexes in one file. Note also that this combined file will take about 4 minutes to download over a 56K modem connection.

The files are in Adobe Electronic Paper format (they contain a scanned image and an OCR text version). The files contain a copy of the original alphabetical paper index: although it will not normally be necessary to conduct an automated search, they can if necessary be searched using the search facilities in Adobe Reader - using the combined file will enable you to search all four indexes with one such search.
